This road trip takes you through the beautiful Nantahala National Forest known for its deep mountain gorges and valleys. There's a gorgeous lake off Route 107. You might want to stop your car off Route 281 and take a 20 minute hike to see Whitewater Falls. You can also slide down Sliding Rock off 276.

There are plenty of small towns scattered between miles of curves. If you are looking for some great curves, that's just the right road trip to take! Hwy 276 is one of most twisty routes out there!
Attractions & Points-of-Interests Along the Way
Gas and restaurants are available in Waynesville, Cashiers, or Brevard. As you go east into Toxaway Falls, just before the bridge you will see a nice restaurant which is a great place for lunch. There is a type of zoo off 276 that is free on Tuesdays. Stop to see Sliding Rock off 276. As you make your way back to Waynesville and Maggie Valley, make sure you check out the Legends Bar in Maggie Valley. If you like old motorcycles, there's Wheels Thru Time Motorcycle Museum, worth $12 admission price.
