When you first start out from exit 255, there are not too many scenic spots to see along the way except for some views of Mt Baker at different section of the route. The scenery improves quickly once you get on Hwy 9/542 from Deming, and then from Glacier to Mt Baker you'll find yourself on a 15-mile stretch of a well shaded and curvy road. The drive up Mt Baker is the most scenic part of this road trip where you'll want to stop and take pictures all the way up. Once you get to the top, you'll find some breathtaking views of Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan.
