Scenery You'll See
Meandering down less-frequented roads, this route takes you through some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Arkansas. Natural attractions along the way include: Ozark National Forest, where you'll find the tallest mountain in the state, Mount Magazine; Hot Springs National Park with its great outdoors recreation opportunities; Nimrod Lake; Lost Valley State Park and Buffalo National River. The route also travels through valleys, one lane bridges, beautiful rivers and creeks. Look for elk, turkey and deer in the area. Boxley is a gathering place for elk. This route takes about 5 hours to travel but well worth the trip.
Towns/Cities You'll Pass By/Through
You'll be passing through several small towns along the way. The roads here are full of curves and 10-15 mph switchbacks, with not many straight spots. You'll be crossing many creeks and rivers. Elevation as high as 2200 ft. The road is generally well maintained; some rock and mud may be in the curves after a lot of rain.
Attractions & Points-of-Interests Along the Way
You'll be traveling through several small towns along this route. There are many camping sites available on this road trip. You can stop in Russellville for gas and a bite to eat. If you drive 14 miles north of Hagerville on Ark. 123, you'll see Haw Creek Falls. This route will also take you past small mountain stream with beautiful falls, rocks and bluffs. There are excellent fishing opportunities along the trip's length. The route provides access to the Ozark Highlands Trail. Jasper is another nice town to stop at for food, gas, lodging, and picnic tables overlooking the Buffalo River. You can also find everything you need in the city of Berryville. Eureka Springs is a lovely little tourist city with lots of things to see and do. It's one of the top arts and culture destinations, Beaver lake and ample lodging and shopping.

Comments: Lots of curves and switch backs. Road a little rough in places. Mostly 2 lane roads but so much beautiful country to see. Numerous places to pull off and take pictures. Look forward to riding this road again.
