Scenery You'll See
This road trip is absolutely spectacular! Traveling across the Continental Divide twice at two different locations, you'll be passing through mountain lakes and Poudre Canyon, along the Poudre River and across nice and lonely stretches of road with little or no traffic. Plan a full day or two for this trip. You'll need time not only to travel but also to stop and take in the incredible views. Keep an eye out for moose, elk, deer or Bald Eagle, which might also cause slight delays. Make this a two-day trip to be able to enjoy all the natural splendor this route has to offer!
Towns/Cities You'll Pass By/Through
The towns along this route are few and far between. Estes Parks is the best and most traveler friendly town on this road trip.
Attractions & Points-of-Interests Along the Way
This road trip offers many great places to pull off and take in the beautiful views. Ft. Collins, Estes Park, Walden and Granby have many lodging opportunities. Major attractions along the way include Rocky Mountain National Park and the adjoining town of Estes Park. This pleasant resort town attracts many travelers from all over the world. Here you can browse in many nice shops and stores and also see the Historic Stanley Hotel. The best restaurants to visit in Estes Park are Hunters Chop House and Estes Park Brewery. You can also find really nice restaurants in Walden such as Coffee Pot Inn or Elkhorn Cafe.

Comments: I've done this road trip before and being that it's in Colorado and passes through the Rocky Mountain National Park area, the scenery is world class ... among the best in all of the US! However, the thing I liked about this trip the best is that you really get away from it all especially when you work your way west and up to Waldon. As popular as Colorado is, you can still find some wonderful lonely roads out there ... nice feeling of freedom when you stop seeing other traffic for a while!!

Comments: I highly recommend the Walden Loop. The Poudre Canyon is breathtaking and the wildlife amazing. We've been there three times and have seen moose from feet away.
